Biography

Justin Bateh is an award-winning academic with decades of deep and rich expertise in business, education, and consulting roles. Currently a tenured faculty member at Florida State College in Jacksonville, he teaches courses in operations, statistics, and management. He has authored two books, Using Statistics for Better Business Decisions and Exploring Leadership Styles and Faculty Satisfaction in Higher Education. As a researcher, he has had papers published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals on management and business. Print and broadcast media often seek out Justin for expert interviews on a broad range of business and economic topics.

Justin completed undergraduate studies at the University of North Florida. He also received an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, an MS in operations management from University of Arkansas, a doctorate in business administration (DBA) from Walden University, and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in operations management from University of Sunderland. He completed a post-graduate specialization in applied statistics from Penn State University.  Justin is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB), the highest designation achieved in the field of Six Sigma.

Prior to his professorship, Justin spent twelve years in various executive and managerial roles at InforMED, overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations to deliver continuing medical education programs to over 800,000 physicians and allied healthcare workers nationwide. Justin has worked as a Senior Operations Consultant for Paramount Strategy Firm, where he trained leaders & organizations in methods achieve operational excellence, develop a culture of continuous improvement, and use analytics to foster data-driven decision making.  He has also served as an executive coach for the Jack Welch Management Institute, working with industry leaders at the world’s top companies to help their organizations excel in operational excellence and strategy.

Justin was also appointed as a Courtesy Research Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine where his areas of interest included methods to improve the patient experience using business and operations tools and techniques not typically used in healthcare.

Recognized by peers and industry experts alike, Justin currently serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in many diverse business subjects to universities, public and private companies, nonprofits, media outlets, and textbook publishers.
